Overview
The Product template (product.json) is the default layout for product pages. It includes the main product section (media gallery, title, price, variants, quantity, add to cart, description) plus optional recommendation sections (Related products, More from vendor, More from collection, Recently viewed, Testimonials, Countdown). This is the standard template assigned to products unless a custom template is selected.
Who This Is For
- Merchants - Customize product layout, add cross-sell sections, and configure product blocks without code.
- Prospective merchants - Product template supports media zoom, variant picker, and app blocks.
- Theme Reviewers - Uses standard section schema; supports @app blocks.

Main Product Blocks
The main product section typically includes: Title, Price, Quantity selector, Variant picker, Inventory status, Buy buttons, Description, Share. App blocks can be added for reviews, size guides, or other apps.
How to Customize
- Go to Customize > Products (or select a product).
- Add, remove, or reorder sections.
- Configure main product blocks and settings.
- Save.
Assigning to Products
Products use this template by default. To use a custom template: Products > Edit product > Theme template > Select product.landing, product.brand-story, etc.
For Merchants
- Use custom product templates for different product types (e.g. gift cards, preorders, campaign pages).
- Add app blocks for product reviews, size charts, or other apps.
- Reorder sections to highlight recommendations or testimonials.
