Overview
The Email signup section collects customer email addresses for your newsletter. It includes a title, descriptive text, and an email form. Optionally, add a side image for visual interest. Submissions create or update customers in Shopify and can be used with email marketing apps (Klaviyo, Mailchimp, Shopify Email). Place this section near the footer or after key content on your homepage.
Where to Add This Section
- Go to Online Store > Themes > Customize.
- Select Homepage (or desired template).
- Click Add section.
- Choose Email signup.
- Position near the bottom (before footer) or after featured content.
- Save.

Quick Setup (3 Steps)
- Add blocks β Add Title, Text, and Form blocks (one of each).
- Enter content β Add heading, value proposition, and ensure Form block is present.
- Style β Choose color scheme, alignment, and optional image.

Block settings
- Title β Heading text (e.g. "Join our newsletter", "Stay in the loop").
- Text β Rich text; explain benefits (e.g. "Get 10% off your first order", "Exclusive offers and early access").
- Form β Typically no configurable settings; theme provides default email field and submit button.

Step-by-Step Setup
Step 1: Add the section
Add Email signup to your homepage (e.g. above the footer) or any template where you want newsletter signup.
Step 2: Add blocks
- Click Add block.
- Add Title β Enter "Join our newsletter" or similar.
- Add Text β Enter value proposition (e.g. "Get exclusive offers, new arrival alerts, and 10% off your first order").
- Add Form β The email form block; ensure it is added (required for signup to work).
Step 3: Configure section settings
- Color scheme β Choose a scheme that fits your page (or None for default).
- Content alignment β Center is typical; Left or Right for asymmetric layouts.
- Image (optional) β Add a side image for visual interest (product shot, lifestyle, brand).
- Image position β Left or Right relative to form.
- Image shape β None, Portrait, Landscape, Splat 1β3, Blob, or Circle for creative image masks.
- Image size β Small, Medium, Large; adjust based on layout.
- Show divider β Use if you want separation from the section above.
- Padding β Adjust top/bottom padding as needed.
- Save.
Step 4: Test
- Enter an email in the form and submit.
- Check Shopify Admin > Customers β new submission may create or update a customer.
- If using an email app (Klaviyo, Mailchimp), verify the app receives the signup.
How Submissions Work

Submissions use Shopify's
form 'customer'or equivalent. - Emails are stored in your customer list; new submissions may create a customer record if one doesn't exist.
- For advanced email marketing (segments, automation, drip campaigns), use Klaviyo, Mailchimp, Shopify Email, or similar.
- Ensure your Privacy Policy is linked and you have clear consent for marketing emails (GDPR, CAN-SPAM).

FAQs
Email addresses submitted through the Email signup section are stored in your Shopify customer list. New submissions may create a new customer record or update an existing one. Customers who subscribe will be marked as accepting marketing.
The form appears only if the Form block is added. Go to the Theme Editor and make sure the Form block is present in the Email signup section.
Make sure the theme is published or previewed properly. Try submitting the form using a valid email address. If the issue persists, check that customer accounts and marketing emails are enabled in Shopify settings.
Yes. The Email signup section uses Shopify's customer form system. Most email marketing apps such as Klaviyo, Mailchimp, and Shopify Email automatically sync subscribed customers from Shopify.
This section is designed specifically for email collection and includes only an email field. Adding additional fields requires theme customization.
The image column appears only if an image is selected in the section settings. Go to the Theme Editor and upload an image in the Image setting.
Yes. In the section settings, use the Image position option to place the image on the left or right side of the form.
